Designed by Yves Béhar and inspired by suspension bridges—structures that deliver the most using the least material—Sayl’s 3D Intelligent back lets you stretch and move, striking a healthy balance between support and freedom. The elastomer strands of the suspension back vary in thickness and tension to provide greater support in the transition areas along the spine and less everywhere else to encourage a full range of seated movement.
The SAYL is constructed using much fewer materials than other seats, meaning that it has a smaller carbon footprint, so you can rest easy knowing that whilst sitting in the complete comfort offered by the SAYL, you’re also helping the environment.
Béhar, who calls San Francisco home, began by looking at designs that deliver the most with the least. And then he took a look at his city’s best-known landmark: the Golden Gate Bridge. Béhar wondered, could the engineering principles of a suspension bridge be applied to a chair? The notion of using a suspension tower to support an unframed suspension back meant that the flexible elastomer suspension material could be stretched in a way that provided the greatest tension at points where support is needed and the least in areas that would allow for the most expansive range of motion.
An active body is at its strongest when standing, chest open and pelvis tilted slightly forward. PostureFit SL supports your spine to give you the same benefit while seated. Adjustable, individual pads provide lumbar support and stabilize the base of the spine for a more powerful seated posture.
The SAYL office chair was designed with ultimate comfort in mind which is adapted to complement every body. Since it has a frameless design with no protrusions, the back supports the body ensuring total support and freedom to move, provided by the foam and fabric seat.
The SAYL’s 3D intelligent suspension technology was specifically designed to give tension where more support, in particular the lower back, or ‘lumbar’ area. The SAYL’s hinge points give these areas more room to flex and facilitate pelvic rotation, meanwhile complimenting the other areas of the back allowing greater movement.

Base, Frame, and Arm Pads
Wash surface with a soft cloth soaked in mild detergent and warm water.
Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
Do not use solvents or abrasive kitchen cleaners.
Fabrics
Vacuum fabric as needed using an upholstery attachment.
Vacuuming picks up dust and reduces the need for professional cleaning.
Do not brush fabric or use a vacuum attachment with a rotary brush.
Brushing may permanently damage the nap or change the character of the fabric.
Wetting the fabric with any liquid solution may result in permanent damage.
Spot cleaning
Immediately soak up the stain with a soft absorbent cloth.
Do not dry the stain completely or it may set.
The longer a stain is allowed to remain on a fabric, the more difficult it is to remove.
